DISTANCEs
There are four distances available; Marathon (42.2km), Half Marathon (21.1km), 10km run and 5km run. Walkers are welcome to participate at the back of the pack for the 10km and 5km distances.
Start times have been staggered to minimise congestion but we ask that runners self seed their start position in the pack so that all people get a fair and safe start. All turn around points will have a divider lane marked.
Marathon COURSE
The Marathon course has a modified start (see map below) and an out-and-back extension at the Forth Street end. The course has been measured with a Jones counter but it is not certified and no changes to that policy will occur in 2023. The Marathon start is at the Geographe Bay Road and Gale Street intersection. It starts going south west for ~500m to the first U turn, then back to West Street for the second U turn and finally south west on Geographe Bay Road (again) to the Section 1 map. The finish lap will again be a loop through the car park then a hair pin turn back towards the finish line.
NOTE: Half Marathon and Marathon runners turn before the 10/5km runners (See Half Marathon Map below [D])
Aid stations: 6 aid stations approximately 3–3.5 km apart. Aid stations will have both water and electrolytes, and bananas. You are encouraged to carry your own particular food requirements.
Entry requirements: The field is limited to 200 runners. All runners must be able to complete the marathon in 4 ½ hours or less. If you are not confident that you can complete the marathon in this time, please consider registering for a shorter event instead.
Start time: At this point, start time will be 5:30am. This will be confirmed closer to the event
Stipulations: there will be a cut off time that will see runners eliminated from the course if they are unable to make the three quarter point by 8:50 am. This is purely for a logistical reason as we are unable to have or support runners out on the course indefinitely.
half marathon
There will be a cut off time to complete this event within 3 hours and 30 minutes. If you are not confident that you can complete the half marathon in this time, please consider registering for a shorter event instead.
