**Event Cancellation Notice**

The Busselton Runners Club committee met this afternoon, Friday 23rd April to discuss the complex matter that has arisen from the recent COVID19 lockdown announcement, placing lockdown measures for both the Peel and Perth metro regions.

As stated in previous media releases, if a 2nd lockdown impacted our event, a cancellation would take place.

We have made this difficult decision with your safety and the community's health first and foremost.

Further updates regarding your tickets will be communicated to you over the coming days.

Media Release 13-02-2021

The Busselton Runners Club committee have chosen the date of 24th April 2021 as the new date for the Busselton Half Marathon and Fun Run.

.You need to read the following information closely, please don’t guess the contents of this media release.

  • All current tickets will be automatically rolled over to the new date. (24th April 2021)

  • If you cannot make this date, you can apply for a refund up until 5pm 13th March 2021 by emailing refunds@busseltonrunnersclub.org.au As per the policy there is a full refund less $10 administration fee. NO REFUNDS after this date.

  • There will be no transfers prior to March 16th 2021.

  • Transfers will be available from 16th March 2021, closing 5pm April 2nd 2021 by emailing transfers@busseltonrunnersclub.org.au There will be NO TRANSFERS after April 2nd.

  • In the event of further Covid 19 Restrictions that impact on the Busselton Half Marathon & Fun Run on 24th April 2021, this event will be cancelled. Your original ticket instructions at time of ticket purchase will apply, which cannot be changed.

The 2022 event is still scheduled for the 2nd weekend in February

Media Release 05-02-2021

The Busselton Runners Club committee met this Friday 5th Feb to discuss the very very complex problem of the Busselton Half Marathon & Fun Run brought about by the Covid19 restrictions currently imposed in the metro area.

At this point in time we have decided that the event will be postponed to late April assuming that we are not subject to any further Covid19 related problems, and all approvals can be met.

We have tried to take into consideration the large number of entrants that live in the Perth / Peel area as well as allowing for the local South West runners.

It is going to be impossible to please everyone so we ask that you keep this in mind: we are a not for profit organisation that is run by a committee of volunteers that have worked exceptionally hard to set up the original event and are now faced with the task of coordinating all of the various contractors to shift to an alternative date.

We have taken into consideration that any date prior to the end of April is subject to previously booked accommodation, with this date giving the most opportunity for accommodation rescheduling.

We also have to juggle the availability of various contractors who may not be able to supply us prior to this date.

We very much want to have another exceptional event that only a good crowd of participants can create and we ask for your cooperation and understanding in this matter. As you will all be aware, to stage an event of this nature cost the club tens of thousands of dollars and we would not want to jeopardise future events by carrying a huge loss forward.

We will continue to support our 2021 beneficiary Cape Care. We thank you for your continuing support for this event.
